My Grandpa that served in the Pacific during WW2 and in Korea as a combat infantryman once told me “Grandson, you’ll never find an atheist in a foxhole. And if you do, he better have ammo. So trust God but pass the ammo”. The funny part was that he was misquoting the song “Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition” written after Pearl Harbor. I like my Grandpa’s quote better.
